Sponsorship that makes a Difference!

Sponsorship helps the Carbohydrate Awareness Council (CarbAware) continue its mission to develop educational materials for the public, health professionals, industry and public policy makers; promote the continued research of nutrition and metabolism as related to controlled-carbohydrate dietary approaches; provide access to online resources; and develop and communicates positions to all interested parties based on the scientific evidence.

The Carbohydrate Awareness Council is committed to:

  • Sponsoring and/or hosting educational events about low-carb diets and controlled-carb nutrition
  • Establishing voluntary standards and guidelines for industry to use in labeling, advertising and communications with consumers
  • Producing educational materials based on objective, scientifically-based information and evidence
  • Working with Regulatory Agencies in defining guidelines for low-carb and controlled-carb foods
  • Providing resources and tools to verify the carbohydrate claims on low-carb and controlled-carb foods
  • Promoting continued research into the health benefits of controlled-carbohydrate nutritional approaches
  • Participating and networking at events related to health, well-being and nutrition to establish CarbAware as the authoritative voice about controlled-carb nutrition
  • Negotiating discounts and incentives for our members and sponsors

Restrictions on Sponsorship

The Carbohydrate Awareness Council restructured the organization and established restrictions on sponsorship of our organization.  As an organization that takes as its foundation the scientific evidence, we limit and restrict the types of companies we accept sponsorship dollars from.  While this may limit our funding, we believe that it expands our ability to remain objective to the evidence supporting controlled-carb nutrition by limiting outside influence on our positions.

At this time we do no longer accept sponsorship dollars from any corporations or for-profit entities.
